Regional Dataset – Adoption
These are the indicators collected by the Social Care Data Group. I would welcome your feedback on this new approach, in particular

Adoption – % placed within 12 months of best interest decision
Q4 2013-2014 The picture is variable across the region, with some authorities performing well (eg Shropshire) and others not so well. The analysis over time however shows a positive picture of authorities improving on this indicator.

Q4 2013-2014 – there is no consistent picture emerging yet from this indicator.
Adoption – Average time from entering care to adoption (Days)
Q4 2013-2014 – The data does not evidence a reduction in the number of days, although it is clear that some authorities have a trend of moving young people through the system more quickly.
A1 – Average time between a child entering care and moving in with its adoptive family – 3 year average
Q4 2013-2014 The data shows that the three year average has not moved much over the year, but the 3 year average shows an improvement on the in year average. The region is fairly cohesive in these results, with just a couple of outliers.
A1 – Average time between a child entering care and moving in with its adoptive family – Current in year average
Q4 2013-2014 – This indicator shows a much more varied picture with no clear trend emerging.
A2 – Average time between receiving court authority to place and match to an adoptive family – 3 year average
Q4 2013-2014 – This indicator shows a disparate outcome, with some Local Authorities doing consistently well and others much more variable including compared with themselves over time.
A2 – Average time between receiving court authority to place and match to an adoptive family – Current in year average
Q4 2013-2014 -The graph shows that Local Authorities are fairly consistent within themselves over time and the picture between authorities is more consistent as well.
