SEND reforms

Collectively we are working on implementation of the SEND reforms. Solihull Council are our regional pathfinder champion and are leading our collaborative efforts to ensure all Local Authorities have implemented the reforms.

Our key activity includes:

  • Supporting implementation in authorities:

  • Sharing good practice

  • Working together on the local offer

Dudley Local Offer,  Staffordshire’s Local Offer, Shropshire’s Local Offer

  • Efficiency Programme

Collectively in the region we spend approx £xx on placements. Therefore SEND must be a feature of our efficiency programme. Our workplan includes:
– collaborative commissioning of placements
– a regional contract for mediation
– investigations on how to reduce costs of SEN transport
